is it just me, or has the history tag gone to total shit? like the featured stuff =/

it’s basically a joke now.

personally, i think great posts should also be a least somewhat informative and not just… stand alone “wow this picture is cool” kinds of things. i mean there are some things that leave an impact regardless, but history is about learning.

the one example that sticks in my head recently - there was a photoset about star-shaped “trace italienne” fortifications and it got featured because “WOW COOL” but it didn’t… have any other information that was relevant  like the development of standing armies, how that changed warfare and why such a specific star fort was even developed in the first place.

JUST. AUGH. WHAT ARE YOU DOING, EDITOR? I WANT TO SHAKE YOU BY THE SHOULDERS AND YELL IN YOUR FACE.
